More about Jackie, Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about Jackie. She grew up in Edmonton, starting real estate investing in her early 20s, moving in and out of about six properties in 10 years, each a stepping stone in the market while working full time. After leaving ten years in the print publishing industry, in 2000, she and her family relocated to the Cowichan Valley, leaving the Alberta prairies behind. In BC, she did some training in Web Design, Programming & Development, which led her to run her own business from home while raising her children.
I am one of the many who had the opportunity to grow up in Edmonton, Alberta and had the privilege to move to Vancouver Island over 20 years ago. I proudly became a true islander and settled with my family in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, one of my favourite places in the world.
My parents instilled an appreciation for family, nature, and community and that you could achieve any goal with hard work & determination. My father began his life in a farm family, operating various small businesses; he enlisted in WWII under-age so he could fight for our country. He came back wounded but never gave up. My mother was born in small-town Alberta and raised on a farm with ten siblings. Together they had five girls, with me as the youngest. We were raised in a typical middle-class Canadian community. My parents were hard-working and focused on providing their children with quality family life. Their love & guidance shaped my belief structure to set goals, work hard, be fair and honest, give back to the community, and live life to the fullest.
I am a graduate of the Westerra Institute of Technology (now part of NAIT) in the Computer Publishing & Systems Management Program and later Web Applications Development at Computer Master in Victoria. After graduation from Westerra, I had the opportunity to work for over 10 years in the print publishing industry, working my way up to one of the largest print shops in Edmonton at Quebecor. After moving to the island and completing my web application program, I started my own business building small business websites. With that experience, I had the opportunity to develop strong marketing, sales, business management, and communication skills. My passion for providing exceptional service in an upscale environment for my clients naturally carried over as my desire to focus on the real estate industry began to unfold.
The opportunity to help families find a new home or move on to a new destination is a special experience and privilege that I enjoy with my clients. The journey to find my calling in life as a real estate agent has been enjoyable, and I feel fortunate to love what I do. Before joining Pemberton Holmes Ltd., I was with a local boutique Real Estate company of, Osborne Realty. My success is fueled by my desire to provide extraordinary service to my wonderful sphere of clients. It gives me satisfaction to know that I am renowned for showcasing my client’s property with state-of-the-art marketing, professional photography, and artistic interior designer touches.
